CHILLICOTHE — The Scioto Valley Conference has released its all-league football honors and three talented names headline the list.
Unioto’s Cody Braden and Zane Trace’s Brice Johnson have been named the league’s co-Offensive Backs of the Year while Unioto’s David Long has earned Defensive Back of the Year honors.
Braden led the Shermans to their third consecutive Gold Ball, totaling 1,140 yards and 20 touchdowns on just 100 carries.
In Kinnikinnick, while the Pioneers have enjoyed an 8-2 season, Johnson has carried the football 145 times, racking up 1,380 yards and 21 touchdowns.
As for Long, he leads Unioto in tackles with 75 — 10 for a loss of yardage — while also adding 90 yards rushing, 172 yards receiving and three touchdowns to the team’s offensive totals.
Defensive Lineman of the Year honors go to Zane Trace’s Blake Brower, Offensive Lineman of the Year honors are shared by Unioto’s Landyn Carruth and Westfall’s Mason Halderman, and Unioto’s Jaxon Zickafoose is the Special Teams Player of the Year.

Unioto’s Matt Hoops is the SVC’s Coach of the Year for the third straight season. In his five years as the Shermans’ head coach, the program is 46-16.
Also earning first-team all-SVC honors is Unioto’s Bryce Jarvis, Jacob Renner, Judah Zickafoose and Isaac Coy, Zane Trace’s Jayden Higgins, Gunnar McCullough, Evan Minor and Hudson Williams, Huntington’s Isaac Taylor, Evan Thomas, Frankie Hirsch, Jackson McNeal and Carson McNeal, Piketon’s Luke Gullion, Treven Shanks, Noah Ross, Malachi Lamerson and Wyatt Savage, Westfall’s Joey Wright, Quinn Eberly, Russ Colahan and Rick Hanley, Adena’s Chuck Saxour, Fisher Schaaf and Grant Rawlings, Paint Valley’s Preston Fauber and Brady Cowman, and Southeastern’s Brayden Burns and Tyler Cutright.
