COLUMBUS — Milee Smith’s trophy case is now complete.
The greatest player in Unioto’s storied history and the future Dayton Flyer accomplished nearly everything she set out to accomplish this season. And she added her final honor, quite possibly the most notable, on Tuesday.
Smith was named Ohio’s Division III co-Player of the Year, alongside Lyndhurst Brush’s Tatiana Mason as the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association released its Division I, II and and III All-Ohio girls basketball honors.
The senior forward led the Shermans to 25 wins, a Gold Ball, a district championship and the program’s first regional title since 1995 while averaging 24.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 3.8 steals — all team-highs.
Five other area players also graced the list.
Athens’ Ella Chapman earned special mention honors, and Unioto’s Keyairah Beard, Washington’s Kate Miller, Miami Trace’s Gracie Lovett and Athens’ Quinn Banks were all honorable mention list honorees.
