PROCTORVILLE — The District 13 Coaches Association has released its all-district girls basketball teams on Monday with multiple familiar names headlining the list.
In Division II/III, Athens’s Ella Chapman is the Player of the Year, Vinton County’s Kylee Smith earned that honor in Division IV, and both Fairland’s Bailey Russell and Addison Godby split the honor in Division V.
Federal Hocking’s Brenlee Cottrill earned the POY honor in Division VI, and Eastern Meigs’s Krystin Fackler earned the honor in Division VII.
Here’s a look at the rest of the all-district selections within SOSA’s coverage umbrella.
DIVISION II/III
Joining Chapman on the Division II/III first-team list is Logan’s Ella Hinton, while on the second-team list is Athens’ Quinn Banks and Marietta’s Hayleigh Chidester.
Special mention honors were earned by Logan’s Ryann Landis, Athens’ Lex Koopal and Marietta’s Braxtyn Kroft, while Marietta’s Lauren Elliott, Logan’s Claire Warren and Athens’ Olivia Smart were tabbed as honorable mention.
Athens’ coach Jeff Skinner is the Division II/III District 13 Coach of the Year.
DIVISION IV
Alongside Smith on the first-team list in Division IV is Gallia Academy’s Mallory Petro and Jackson’s Sydney Carpenter.
On the second-team list is Vinton County’s Emma Leaming, Gallia Academy’s Ryan Nunn and Warren’s DeLaney Gates.
The special mention list is made up of Warren’s Josie Venham and Jayda Murray, Jackson’s Lillian Mapes and South Point’s Samiya Bradburn.
Earning honorable mention honors are Vinton County’s Olive Booth, Jackson’s Jaylynn Montgomery, Gallia Academy’s Aspen Barnes, South Point’s Molly Adams and Warren’s Danica Gates.
Gallia Academy coach Brett Bostic was named Division IV District 13 Coach of the Year.
DIVISION V
Alongside Godby and Russell on first-team in Division V is Chesapeake’s Abbey Isaacs, Alexander’s Lily Ryder and River Valley’s Hayley Edwards.
On the second-team is Fairland’s Isa Taliaferro and Addyson Cornell, Chesapeake’s Chloe Parrott, Alexander’s Kaylee Hudnall, Ironton’s Lexi McCall and Nelsonville-York’s Madi Pidcock.
Making special mention is River Valley’s Laella Mullins and Kaylin Burger, Wellston’s Kennedi Stevens, Meigs’s Shelby Yost, Ironton’s Addison Neal, Alexander’s Kayden Bean, Chesapeake’s Sara Dillon and Rock Hill’s Blayr Knapp.
Honorable mention is comprised of Alexander’s Karah Allison, Meigs’s Ella Vaughn, Rock Hill’s Samantha Bamer, Wellston’s Emma Moon, River Valley’s Peyton Keeton, Nelsonville-York’s Maeslyn Call, Chesapeake’s Ciera Nichols, Ironton’s Addison Murray and Fairland’s Teegan Leap.
Fairland coach Jon Buchanan was named Division V District 13 Coach of the Year.
DIVISION VI
Alongside Cottrill on the first-team list in Division VI is Belpre’s Gracie Bills, while Waterford’s Brynnlee Pottmeyer and Coal Grove’s Jenna Anson were named second-team.
Special mention includes Waterford’s Ava Hurley and Elsie Malec, Belpre’s Julia Way and Federal Hocking’s Takira Walker, while the honorable mention list is comprised of Coal Grove’s Kendall Taylor and Emma Lively, Federal Hocking’s Laura Blower and Belpre’s Khloe Cooper.
Federal Hocking coach Amos Cottrill is the Division VI District 13 Coach of the Year.
DIVISION VII
Joining Fackler on first-team Division VII is South Gallia’s Ryleigh Schaefer, Trimble’s Rilynn Fouts and Southern’s Kiersten Rose.
Trimble’s Kenzie Eing, Eastern Meigs’s Braelyn Simpson and South Gallia’s Jacie Boothe made up the second-team list.
Making up the special mention list is Symmes Valley’s Brenna Tibbs and Lydia Saunders, Southern’s Jaylynn Hupp and Neveah Camp, Eastern Meigs’s Makenzie Robertson and Miller’s Lillian Anderson.
Honorable mention includes Southern’s Sydney Stout, Symmes Valley’s Aly Haydon, Eastern Meigs’s Ashlynn Thomas, Trimble’s Ava Richards, South Gallia’s Sharla Hammond and Miller’s Alivea Lunning.
Eastern Meigs coach Hayden Plummer was named Division VII District 13 Coach of the Year.
