CHILLICOTHE — Milee Smith is in elite company. Or the elite company can now say they’re with Milee Smith.
Either way, it’s the truth.
Unioto’s star senior has made a habit of making history throughout her magnificent career and on Friday morning, she did it again.
After leading her team to a fourth consecutive Gold Ball, she was named the SVC’s Player of the Year for a third time — joining Huntington’s Lydia Bridenbaugh, Southeastern’s Ella Skeens and Huntington’s Allison Basye as the only players to ever earn that honor three times.
With the University of Dayton on her radar, Smith has posted 23.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per night while helping the Shermans extend their SVC win streak to 56 games. Her career scoring total currently stands at 2,001 — the sixth-most in league history.

Unioto coach Jeff Miller has been named the league’s Coach of the Year after helping his Shermans piece together an overall mark of 19-2.
Joining Smith with first-team all-conference honors is her teammate Keyairah Beard, Piketon’s Laila Kelley, Huntington’s Brailee Hauswirth and Adena’s Marly Halcomb.
Piketon junior Jaylin Forbes, Southeastern senior Gracie Brown, Unioto senior Maggie Holbert, Paint Valley senior Karris Dye and Westfall senior Adrian Moehl make up the five second-team all-SVC selections.
Earning third-team all-league honors are Zane Trace’s Emma Houston, Southeastern’s Reese Ruckel, Adena’s Josie Mallow, Huntington’s Tori Smith and Piketon’s Reese Shanks.
