Ligon, Allen, Guthrie headline area’s Division III All-Ohio football honorees

Here's a look at the area's All-Ohio football selections in Division III.

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Prep Sports Media Association released its Division III All-Ohio football teams on Wednesday and three area athletes received top honors.

Chillicothe’s Cartae Ligon, Jackson’s Jake Allen and Miami Trace’s Adam Guthrie were all named to the first-team list.

Ligon was the Division III District Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Cavaliers to six wins with 2,156 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Allen was the anchor up front for the Ironmen, who went 9-3 and won a fifth-straight conference title alongside a playoff game this season.

Meanwhile, Guthrie protected his quarterback’s blind side and helped the Panthers win nine games, including a playoff victory. 

Jackson’s Ryan Seimetz was the lone area selection on second-the team All-Ohio list, leading the Ironmen with 930 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns, on top of eight more scores through the air.

Miami Trace’s Julian Baker and Athens’ Anthony Sutton were third-team honorees after leading their teams to playoff appearances. 

On the Division III honorable mention list is Jackson’s Bodhi Wolford, Thatcher Brown, Charlie Woodard, Eli Ray and Dayton Kallner, Hillsboro’s Mason Dumpert, Collin Swackhamer and Zack Brown, Chillicothe’s Connor Rutherford, Nate Scissum and Truitt McGlone, Athens’ Weston Wheatley, Jay Irwin, and Tremayne Scott and Miami Trace’s Cooper Enochs and Matthew Barnard.
