WHEELERSBURG — The Southern Ohio Conference has announced its all-league soccer honors and a host of familiar names headline the lists.
Wheelersburg’s pair of Ella McGraw and Nick Sylvia, South Webster’s Hunter Barnard and Ironton St. Joseph’s Carson Lyons have all earned SOC Player of the Year honors.
McGraw, a sophomore, was sensational for the league champion Pirates, scoring 25 goals and passing out 24 assists — upping her career totals to 48 and 35.
Lyons is the SOC I POY, following a successful season. He led his team to the district semifinal, scoring 46 goals and passing out seven assists.
In the SOC II, Sylvia and Barnard shared the POY recognition.
Barnard was instrumental in his Jeeps’ district championship run and 16-win season, breaking his own single-season scoring record.
Sylvia and his teammates are still playing in November. While leading his team to the program’s second-ever regional crown, the senior has scored 50 times for a career total of 171 — which ranks third-most in a career in OHSAA history.
Defensive Player of the Year honors went to Wheelersburg’s Ava Artrip, Valley’s Nick Queen and Wheelersburg’s Breyden Byrd.
Meanwhile, Coach of the Year accolades were earned by Wheelersburg’s Kevin Powell, New Boston’s Anthony Maynard and Ironton Clay’s Shad Miller, who share the honor in the SOC I, and Wheelersburg’s Jon Estep.

GIRLS
Joining McGraw and Artrip on the league’s first-team list are teammates Ella Hochstetler and Makenzie Mullens, Minford’s Sadie Tieman, Addison Lemon and Marley Rhodes, Valley’s Austin Frantz, Mia Rose and Mya Wolfe, Waverly’s Hayden Jones and Leah Walters, and Northwest’s Riley Pertuset.
The second-team list includes Wheelersburg’s Breckyn Bivens and Laynah Kiser, Minford’s Claire Clevenger and Aubrey McGuire, Valley’s Riley Nourse and Kayleigh Lore, Waverly’s Emilee Secrest and Northwest’s Lo Rockwell.
BOYS
In the SOC I, joining Lyons and Queen on the first-team list is Valley’s Christian Copen, Jaxsyn Bender and Hunter Sparks, Ironton St. Joseph’s Jack Whaley and Beckett Waginger, Clay’s Billy Miller and Evan Rider, New Boston’s Tyler McQuithy and Riley Adkins, and Western’s Bruno Morales.
Gracing the second-team list are Valley’s Jett Hall-Loftin and Caysen Zieber, Ironton St. Joseph’s Ian Whaley and Blake Medinger, Clay’s Taylor Culbertson and London Sinclair, New Boston’s Cam Voiers, and Western’s Cole Grooms.
In the SOC II, joining Sylvia, Barnard and Byrd on the first-team list is Wheelersburg’s Evan Mitchell and Andrew Tabor, South Webster’s Brycin McClintic and Carson Corriell, Minford’s Ashton Reeder and Colby Mullens, Northwest’s Caiman Adkins and Luke Lewis, West’s Michael Grobowski, and Waverly’s Nathan LeHew.
The second-team list includes Wheelersburg’s Clark Weller and Kayson Whitt, South Webster’s Cole Bennett and Sam Murphy, Minford’s Max Lauder and Trevor Born, Northwest’s Noah Bayless, West’s Zachary Holsinger and Waverly’s Zarian Canter.
