Ford, Figgins, Brewster, Chamberlin headline all-SOC volleyball selections

PORTSMOUTH — The Southern Ohio Conference released its all-league volleyball honors on Monday and multiple familiar names headline the lists.

Notre Dame’s Maycee Ford, Oak Hill’s Emma Figgins, Western’s Addy Brewster and Wheelersburg’s Ella Chamberlin have earned Player of the Year honors in their respective divisions.

Ford is the SOC I POY, Figgins and Brewster share the honor in the SOC II and Chamberlin is the SOC III’s POY.

Ford led her Titans to yet another undefeated season in conference play, posting 295 kills, 34 aces, 12 blocks and 94 digs.

Figgins aided her Oaks to 12 wins with 275 kills, 71 aces, seven blocks and 274 digs while Brewster led her Indians to a district final appearance, posting 342 kills, 28 aces, 31 blocks, 294 digs and 291 assists.

Finally, Chamberlin was the quarterback of the Pirates’ offense, passing out 844 assists alongside 241 digs and 41 aces. She’ll end her career, eventually, with well over 2,000 assists.

Defensive Player of the Year honors were also handed out and Notre Dame’s Bella Rush, Oak Hill’s Bailee Lahrmer, Eastern’s Aubrey Quillen, Northwest’s Joshline Sanford and South Webster’s Addi Claxon took home those honors. — Lahrmer, Quillen and Sanford shared the honor in the SOC II.

SOC I

Joining Ford and Rush with all-league honors are Notre Dame’s Lyndsey Schaefer and Sophie Phillips, Clay’s Addie Willis, Clay’s Elin Shaw, New Boston’s Daisy Hamilton and Rilyn Holbrook, Green’s Emma Brown, East’s Natali Hoskins and Ironton St. Joe’s Georgie Stephenson.

On the second-team list is Notre Dame’s Bella Rush and Kailee Ogier, Clay’s Laney Shepherd and Heidi Smith, New Boston’s Mya Truitt and Justina Williams, Green’s Peyton Neal, East’s Haley Blevins and Ironton St. Joe’s Sophia Rowe.

Clay’s Keith Cottle is the division’s Coach of the Year.

SOC II

Joining Figgins, Brewster, Lahrmer, Sanford and Quillen with first-team honors in the SOC II are Eastern’s Laken Gullett and Kenleigh Bapst, Western’s Camilla Banfi, Northwest’s Claire Newman, South Gallia’s Michaelanne Ours and Symmes Valley’s Alyssa Haydon.

The second-team list includes Eastern’s Lynnleigh McCollister and Callie Rader, Western’s Chelsey Ryan and Aubrey Penwell, Northwest’s Sadie Smith and Chelsi Jones, South Gallia’s Molly McWhorter and Symmes Valley’s Emma Berry.

The SOC II Coach of the Year is Eastern’s Rhyanna Knauff.

SOC III

Alongside Chamberlin on the SOC III’s first-team list are teammates Grace Woodward and Alyssa Mullins, South Webster’s Addi Claxon, Waverly’s Sidney Johnson and Taryn Gillott, Valley’s Katelyn Queen and Kendyl Christman, West’s Macey Whisman and Minford’s Kerigan Davis.

The second-team list includes Wheelersburg’s Mylee Gleim and Laynee Walker, Waverly’s Carli Knight and Sadie Royster, Valley’s Mya Williams and Ella Thompson, South Webster’s Avary Claxon, West’s Brayleigh Pistole and Minford’s Savanna Barker.

Wheelersburg’s Kelsey Glockner is the SOC III’s Coach of the Year.
