CHILLICOTHE — A pair of Unioto Shermans, and a Westfall Mustang, are taking home individual awards after their performance on the pitch this fall.
Unioto’s Elliott Allsop has been named the Scioto Valley Conference Player of the Year while Aidyn Danison and Westfall’s Kyleigh Mercurio are sharing the same honor on the girls side.
It’s Allsop and Mercurio’s first POY award while Danison, a senior, is now adding a third such honor to her trophy shelf.
While guiding the Shermans to a 8-6-3 mark this season, Allsop has scored 22 goals while passing out 13 assists.
Danison has found the back of the net on 15 occasions and has tallied five assists, aiding her team to a 11-5-1 record.
Meanwhile, Mercurio has guided the Mustangs to the program’s best-ever season at 14-3 overall while posting a league-high 37 goals.
The Goalie of the Year awards were earned by Westfall’s Gabe Cox and Unioto’s Jillian Mathey.

BOYS
Joining Allsop and Cox with all-league honors are Unioto’s Liam Mathey, Tanner Beam, Bryce Derringer, Luke Mautz and Blake Egginger, Westfall’s Emory Dumm, Blayze Scott and Evan Fritz, Zane Trace’s Preston Lane, Aiden Gigley, Alex Karwatske and Austin Singer, and Piketon’s Jace Tinney.
On the honorable mention list is Piketon’s Carter Smith and Keegan Carroll, Unioto’s Kooper Lambert and Johnny Wetzel, Westfall’s Robert Cox and Caleb Henry, and Zane Trace’s Ayden Large and Caleb Skaggs.
The Coach of the Year is Unioto’s Shane Mathey.
GIRLS
Danison, Mercurio and Mathey are joined on the all-league list by Unioto’s Addison Stanger, Elliana Meyers, Abbie Proctor and Thaila Cruz, Westfall’s Olivia Dick, Claire Abrigg and Carly Atwood, Zane Trace’s Carlie Clark, Kelsie Haubeil and Gabi Mathis, and Piketon’s Abigail Acord.
Appearing on the honorable mention list are Piketon’s Jaylin Forbes and Reese Shanks, Unioto’s Sophie Hanes and Kelsie Igou, Westfall’s Lydia Colahan and Haylee Kaethow, and Zane Trace’s Sophia Williams and Mariska Wax.
The Coach of the Year is Unioto’s Jeremy Clark.
