Take a look at the Mid-State League’s baseball, softball honors

CIRCLEVILLE — The Mid-State League has released its all-conference baseball and softball teams with many familiar names headline the lists.

The MSL Buckeye Player of the Year went to Bloom-Carroll’s Markus Robinson, while Circleville’s Trent Smith was named the Pitcher of the Year.  

Liberty Union swept honors in softball as Payton Hochradel was tabbed the Player of the Year while teammate Susie Shultz was named the Pitcher of the Year. 

The league’s Coach of the Year honors were earned by Bloom-Carroll’s Jason Vest for baseball, while Liberty Union’s Shaun Hochradel and Bloom-Carroll’s Chris Lucas shared the honor on the softball diamond.

Here’s a look at each of the all-league lists.

BASEBALL

Joining Smith and Robinson with first-team honors was Bloom-Carroll’s Johnny Kaut, Caleb Hinkel and Tryce Chaffin, Circleville’s Glavine Bigamand Austin Gray, Logan Elm’s Kelton Bennington, Fairfield Union’s Micah Hartman, Amanda-Clearcreek’s Breece Stone, Liberty Union’s Tanner Farmer and Hamilton Township’s James Hennen.  

The second-team list includes Circleville’s David Northam and Drew Thornsley, Amanda-Clearcreek’s Nick Holland and Gary Kemmerling, Fairfield Union’s Ashton Waldrop and Garrett Dilcher, Liberty Union’s Camden Wood and Robert Savage, Bloom-Carroll’s Park Truex and Ethan Moore, Logan Elm’s Grant Cline and Hamilton Township’s Brad Butcher. 

Honorable mention honors were earned by Logan Elm’s Keegan Diehl and Camden Ebert, Circleville’s Hudson Phalin and Kisor Cassidy, Fairfield Union’s Benjamin Barringer and Brady Andrews, Amanda-Clearcreek’s Brady Holbrook and Noah Chambers, Liberty Union’s Alex Johnson and Owen Thomas, Bloom-Carroll’s Ethan Hinkel and Matthew Cline, and Hamilton Township’s Keaton Clagg and Shane Watkins. 

SOFTBALL

Hochradel and Shultz are joined on the first-team list by Bloom-Carroll’s Madelyn Gates, Ady Luke and Claire Whitcraft, Logan Elm’s Sadie Binkley and Lucy Caplinger, Circleville’s Claire Davis and Kaylee West, Fairfield Union’s Adelyn Wolfe, Liberty Union’s Eden Wilson and Hamilton Township’s Audrey Keller.

Liberty Union’s Addi Osterman, Emmalee Putnam and Haeden Brunty, Fairfield Union’s Ella Harmon, Kayle Emsweiler and Taylor Smeck, Circleville’s Audrey Cowdery and Kayla Fleck, Bloom-Carroll’s Maddi Walters and Madi Grefe, Logan Elm’s Brittani Lane and Amanda-Clearcreek’s Haley Robinson all earned second-team honors.

Honorable mention honors were earned by Logan Elm’s Peyton Richendollar, Hannah Gooley and Kimmy Petty, Amanda-Clearcreek’s Makenna Singleton, Payton Singleton and Cassidy Steinmetz, Bloom-Carroll’s Ady Brown, Jaiden Sharrow and Raychel Grove, Fairfield Union’s Gauge Mitchell, Hamilton Township’s Landrey Bishop and Liberty Union’s Alexis McCoy.
