Here’s a look at the TVC’s all-league baseball, softball teams

The TVC has released its all-league baseball and softball teams.

WELLSTON — The Tri-Valley Conference released its all-league awards and, to no surprise, Wellston’s Hannah Potts finds her name at the top of the list. 

The senior hurler earned herself honors as the Defensive Player of the Year and shared co-Offensive Player of the Year accolades alongside Athens’ Adyson Williams in the TVC-Ohio Division. 

Potts led her team to their first regional final appearance since 1979, tossing 133 innings in 25 games and striking out 288 hitters with a 0.94 ERA.

Williams made herself a household name as a freshman, hitting .547 with five home runs, 12 doubles, 41 hits and 40 RBIs.

Potts’ skipper, Jim Hall, was named the Coach of the Year. 

On the baseball side of the TVC-Ohio division, Meigs’ Braden Hawley is the Offensive Player of the Year while Athens’ Justin Bennett was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Year. 

Hawley led the Marauders to nine wins, batting .361 with three doubles and 13 RBIs while Bennett led the Bulldogs to 20 wins and a TVC championship.

Bennett’s coach, Todd Nuzum, is the Coach of the Year. 

In the TVC-Hocking Division, in softball, Eastern Meigs’ Emma Putman was named the Offensive Player of the Year, while Southern’s Jaylynn Hupp and Belpre’s Makayla Carmichael split Defensive Player of the Year honors. 

Putman was a home run waiting to happen as she batted .591 on the year, posting 12 long balls, four triples, 13 doubles, 57 runs and 49 RBIs. 

Hupp led the Tornadoes to 16 wins and a Gold Ball while Carmichael tossed 93 innings and struck out 140 batters for the Eagles.

Southern coach Bryan Swann has been named the Coach of the Year. 

Meanwhile, in baseball, Eastern Meigs swept the board as Rowhan Gilmore was named the Offensive Player of the Year, Brady Rockhold was tabbed as Defensive Player of the Year and Chris Stewart was named the Coach of the Year. 

Gilmore finished the season batting .402 with a home run, 10 doubles, 19 runs scored and 25 RBIs, while Rockhold was 7-4 on the hill with a 2.42 ERA in 52 innings alongside 58 strikeouts. 

Joining Potts and Williams on the all-TVC list was Wellston’s Maddie Childers, Karly Rinehart, Lyla Pittenger, Avery Fain and Rylan Landrum, Vinton County’s Jordyn Zinn, Jessica Wells, Natalie Zinn, Bailey Wellman and Elize Smith, Meigs’ Natalie Goode, Bella Roush, Ava Horn, Audrey Newell and Gracie Banks, Athens’ Rylee Toadvine, Fern Sigman, Ellie Beck-Aden and Khyla Brannon, River Valley’s Paislee Darst, Maralana Foreman and Kailyn Fife, Nelsonville-York’s Emmie Fowler and Lily Gura, and Alexander’s Kaylee Hundall
