COLUMBUS — The Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association released its All-Ohio baseball lists on Monday and a number of players from SOSA’s coverage area earned their spots.
Leading the area’s honorees are Miami Trace’s Gaige Stuckey and Jackson’s Noah Ernst in Division III, Portsmouth’s Trevin Brooks, Ironton’s Ian Ginger and Lynchburg-Clay’s Cole Wells in Division V, and both South Webster’s Benaiah Andrews and Notre Dame’s Luke Cassidy in Division VII — all of whom earned first-team honors.
On the mound, Stuckey was nearly untouchable as he went 9-2 with a 1.10 ERA in 70 innings of work while striking out 128 batters, leading the Panthers to a district final appearance.
Ernst, on the other hand, did damage at the dish by batting .423 with three home runs, seven doubles, 22 runs scored and 26 RBIs, leading the Ironmen to an FAC title and a district final appearance.
In Division V, Brooks finished the season batting .500 with 12 doubles, 16 runs scored and 32 RBIs, guiding the Trojans to 18 wins and a district final appearance.
Ginger was the driving force behind a history-making season for the Tigers, hitting .576 with a home run, three doubles, four triples, 30 runs scored and 17 RBIs, helping this team to an OVC title and their first district crown since 2003.
Wells, meanwhile, has been the heart and soul for the Mustangs, and saved his best season for last. He hit .574 with five home runs, six doubles, 24 runs and 33 RBIs. He also went 8-0 on the mound with a 0.00 ERA in 41 2/3 innings of work, striking out 81 hitters.
On the Division VII side, Andrews led the Jeeps to an SOC III and district championship, going 9-2 on the mound with a 1.46 ERA in 72 innings, striking out 55 batters.
Cassidy was the driving force behind the Titans’ success, helping them to 11 wins on the season, hitting .590 with eight doubles, four triples, 31 runs scored and 27 RBIs.

In Division III, Jackson’s Gaven Jones made the second-team list, finishing the season unblemished on the bump with an 8-0 record, sporting a 0.98 ERA in 46 1/3 innings, striking out 54 batters.
Unioto’s Keegan Snyder earned second-team honors, while K.B. Perkins made the honorable mention list in Division IV.
Snyder hit .425 with two home runs, eight doubles, 36 runs and 19 RBIs, while Perkins batted .354 with two home runs, four triples, seven doubles, 17 runs and 28 RBIs. He also went 8-1 on the mound with a 1.60 ERA in 42 1/3 innings and striking out 76 batters.
Portsmouth’s Jacob Roth, Zane Trace’s Gunnar McCullough and Coal Grove’s Derick Bloomfield all carved out spots on the second-team list in Division V.
Roth did his damage from the dish, batting .432 with six doubles, 32 runs and 26 RBIs for the 18-win Trojans.
McCullough led the Pioneers to 19 wins by hitting .437 with two triples, nine doubles, 30 runs scored and 32 RBIs, while Bloomfield hit .511 for the Hornets with eight doubles and 15 RBIs.
In Division VI, Eastern Meigs’ Ethan Edwards and Waterford’s Zavier Heiss earned their spot on the second-team list.
Edwards led the Eagles to a conference and district championship, batting .394 with six doubles, 36 runs scored and 18 RBIs. Heiss, meanwhile, led the Wildcats to a district final appearance as he hit .371 with four home runs, eight doubles, 30 runs scored and 25 RBIs.
Manchester’s Thomas Barnhart earned honorable mention honors by sporting a .444 batting average with four home runs, eight doubles, 16 runs scored and 29 RBIs, while Symmes Valley’s Will Jones joined him with a .422 average alongside three triples, nine doubles, 31 runs scored and 31 RBIs.
In Division VII, Fairfield’s Zane Matthews earned his spot on the second-team as he batted .567 with a home run, two triples, seven doubles, 27 runs scored and 20 RBIs.
