PORTSMOUTH — The Southern Ohio Conference released its all-league basketball teams on Friday afternoon with a host of familiar names headlining.
Here’s a look at each of the league’s division’s all-conference lists.
SOC I
In the SOC I, both Notre Dame’s boys and girls programs won league championships. Rightfully so, the Titans are well-represented with all-league honors.
Notre Dame’s Gracie Ashley was named the Defensive Player of the Year while ND’s Cody Metzler was the Player of the Year on the boys side. Metzler’s teammate, Aaryn Bradford was honored as the tri-Defensive POY while boys coach Matt Mader earned Coach of the Year honors.
Other highlights were Green’s Abbie Knapp, who was the SOC I Player of the Year, alongside her coach, Melissa Knapp, who is the Girls Coach of the Year.
New Boston’s Tyreke Lewis and Ironton St. Joe’s Drew Brown shared the Defensive POY honor with Bradford.

GIRLS, FIRST-TEAM: Notre Dame’s Gracie Ashley, Ella Kirby and Katie Strickland, Green’s Abbie Knapp and Matti Hayslip, New Boston’s Cassi Williams and Brooklyn Boyer, Clay’s Emma Emnett, and East’s Natalie Hoskins.
GIRLS, SECOND-TEAM: Notre Dame’s Bree Hicks and Annabelle Ball, New Boston’s Arenda Gosselin, Clay’s Sophia Craft, and East’s Ella Shope.
BOYS, FIRST-TEAM: Notre Dame’s Cody Metzler, Landon Barbarits and Connie Thomas, Ironton St. Joe’s Drew Brown and Landon Rowe, New Boston’s Devin Allard and Jayse Tabor, Clay’s Kenny Fowler, Green’s Jon Knapp, and East’s Keagan Barker.
BOYS, SECOND-TEAM: Notre Dame’s Myles Phillips and Aaryn Bradford, Ironton St. Joe’s Eli Whaley and Wesley Neal, New Boston’s Tyreke Lewis, Clay’s Keegan Newman, Green’s Landon Kimbler, and East’s Kaiden Huston.

SOC II
The SOC II’s boys and girls champions were Northwest and South Gallia, who also had players named the leauge’s POYs.
Northwest’s duo of Tanner Bolin and Connor Lintz are the co-POYs while South Gallia’s Morgan Lyons is the outright POY. The Mohawks and Rebels were also represented on the defensive side as Jay Jenkins and Tori Triplett earned Defensive POY honors.
The boys and girls Coaches of the Year are Northwest’s Rick Scarberry and South Gallia’s Corey Small.

GIRLS, SECOND-TEAM: South Gallia’s Madison Summers and Jacie Boothe, Symmes Valley’s Kaitlyn Marnard and Lydia Saunders, Northwest’s Karleigh South, Eastern’s Cylie Weaver, Oak Hill’s Alyssa Whitt, Western’s Lauren Ware.
BOYS, FIRST-TEAM: Northwest’s Connor Lintz, Tanner Bolin and Jay Jenkins, Eastern’s Jace White and Tucker Leist, South Gallia’s Tanner Boothe and Gabe Frazee, Symmes Valley’s Ethan Smith and Will Jones, Western’s Drew Haggy and Kam Janes.
BOYS, SECOND-TEAM: Northwest’s Caleb Lewis and Logan Wolfenbarker, Eastern’s Teagan Werner and T.J. Richards, South Gallia’s Brycen Stanley and Tanner Sanders, Symmes Valley’s Aydan Taylor and Oak Hill’s Mason Davis.

SOC III
Wheelersburg won the SOC III boys championship while Minford and West shared the girls title — both ending at 9-1 in league play with losses to each other.
The league’s POYs are Valley’s Jace Copley and West’s Emma Sayre, while Minford’s Bennett Kayser and both South Webster’s Skylar Zimmerman and Minford’s Maggie Risner have earned Defensive POY honors.
The SOC III Coach of the Year honors were earned by Wheelersburg’s Alex Prater and both West’s Larry Howell and Minford’s Chuck Miller.
