CIRCLEVILLE — The Mid-State League has released its all-conference boys and girls basketball teams and many familiar names headline the lists.

The MSL’s top honors went to Fairfield Union’s Caleb Schmelzer and Bloom-Carroll’s Emily Bratton, who were each named the league’s Player of the Year.

Schmelzer, the Falcons’ leading scorer, has paced his team to a 15-7 overall record alongside a 10-4 mark in league play. Bratton was also as advertised all year long, aiding her Bulldogs to 17 wins, 11 of which came in conference action.

The league’s Coach of the Year honors were earned by Teays Valley’s Brian Barnett and Circleville’s Brian Bigam.

Here’s a look at each of the all-league lists.

BOYS

Joining Schmelzer on the first-team list is Bloom-Carroll’s Carson Davis, Circleville’s Briley Cramer, Hamilton Township’s Jovon McBride, Liberty Union’s Tomas Winter, Logan Elm’s Nemiah Waugh, Teays Valley’s Brody Fields and Sam Miller.

The second-team list includes Bloom-Carroll’s Jackson Wyant and Park Truex, Circleville’s Slater Search, Liberty Union’s Noah Shook, Teays Valley’s Kole Nungester, Fairfield Union’s Caleb Redding, Hamilton Township’s Josh Woods, and Logan Elm’s Brody Sabine.

Honorable mention honors were earned by Bloom-Carroll’s Tryce Chaffin, Amanda-Clearcreek’s Logan Stevens, Circleville’s Drew Thornsley, Logan Elm’s Tyler Speas, Fairfield Union’s Keegan Arnett, Hamilton Township’s Ajmidou Diallo, Liberty Union’s Luke Williams, and Teays Valley’s Luke Burgett.

Circleville’s Brian Bigam is the MSL-Buckeye’s Girls Coach of the Year.

GIRLS

Bratton is joined on the first-team list by Circleville’s Addison Edgington and Faith Yancey, Teays Valley’s Kennedy Younkin, Amanda-Clearcreek’s Taylor Evans, Logan Elm’s Kiannah Ingram, Hamilton Township’s Alexis Wooten, and Fairfield Union’s Elly Lewis.

Circleville’s Maddie Blakeman and Gabby McConnell, Teays Valley’s Alyssa Horsley, Amanda-Clearcreek’s Kaylie Wilson, Logan Elm’s Kimberly Petty, Bloom-Carroll’s Tessa Brooks and Marissa Wilkinson and Fairfield’s Union’s Maycee Martindill all earned second-team honors.

Honorable mention honors were earned by Teays Valley’s Abbie Tier and Tessa Horsley, Fairfield Union’s Taylor Smeck, Liberty Union’s Morgan Love and Ella Brown, Logan Elm’s Maggie Wilson, Hamilton Township’s Kiki Dean, and Amanda-Clearcreek’s Grace Davis.
