Fairland’s Hinkle, South Point’s Lovely headline District 13 Coaches Association all-district teams

The District 13 Coaches Association recently released their all-district basketball teams. Here’s a breakdown of both the boys and girls lists.

BOYS

SOUTH POINT — South Point hasn’t lost in the state of Ohio this season, and Caleb Lovely has largely been a reason why. 

When the District 13 Coaches Association released its all-district basketball teams, Lovely was tabbed as the Division III Player of the Year after leading the Pointers with 22.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per night. 

On the Division I/II first-team list, in the area, is Gallia Academy’s Isaac Clary, Vinton County’s Garrett Brown and Ironton’s Braden Schreck. 

On the second-team list is Jackson’s Evan Jarvis, Ironton’s Shaun Terry and Athens’ Nathan Shadik.

Honorable mention accolades go to Vinton County’s Bradyn Cain, Jack Davidson and Cobra Sharp, Gallia Academy’s Jance Lambert, Jackson’s Boston Campbell, Athens’ Landon Wheatley, Ironton’s Ethan White and Logan’s Simon Pierce. 

Alexander’s Kyler D’Augustino has been named the Division I/II District 13 Player of the Year, while Vinton County coach N.J. Kight has been named the Division I/II Coach of the Year. 

Joining Lovely on the first-team list in Division III is Wellston’s Cyan Ervin, Fairland’s J.D. Thacker and Coal Grove’s Owen Johnson. 

The second-team list features Oak Hill’s Kade Kinzel, Fairland’s Chase Allen, Chesapeake’s Dannie Maynard and South Point’s Jordan Ermalovich.  

On the honorable mention list is South Point’s Xander Dornon and Xathan Henry, Wellston’s Gunnar Harmon and Fairland’s duo of Brody Buchanan and Will Davis.

South Point coach Travis Wise is the Division III Coach of the Year. 

In Division IV, on the first-team list is Symmes Valley’s Ethan Smith and Ironton St. Joe’s Erkai Jackson.

Honorable Mention honors are highlighted by Ironton St. Joe’s Kai Coleman and Welsey Neal, alongside Symmes Valley’s Braden Corn

Federal Hocking’s Tariq Cottrill is the Division IV Player of the Year, while his coach, Travis Thompson, is the Coach of the Year.

GIRLS

PROCTORVILLE — All season long, Fairland’s Tomi Hinkle has been the fearless and unquestioned leader of one of the most talented girls teams to ever grace Southeast Ohio. 

Hinkle was named the Division I/II Player of the Year when the District 13 Coaches Association released its all-district girls basketball teams.  

Joining her on the first-team list in Division I/II is teammate Bree Allen, Jackson’s T.J. Carpenter and Athens’ Asa Holcombe.

In the second-team group is Jackson’s Kenzie Davis and Mattie Walburn alongside Fairland’s Addison Godby and Bailey Russell.

Honorable mention accolades are going to Vinton County’s Lindsey Riddle and Lakin Williams, Fairland’s Kamryn Barnitz and Kylee Bruce, Athens’ Ella Chapman and Emily Zuber, Logan’s duo of Makenzie Daubenmire and Danika Mahaffey, and Gallia Academy’s Chanee Cermeans. 

Fairland coach Jon Buchanan has been named the Coach of the Year. 

Highlighting the first-team list in Division III is Wellston’s Maddie Potts and Chesapeake’s Sophi Hutchinson. 

The second-team list features Coal Grove’s Kelsey Fraley, South Point’s Camille Hall, Chesapeake’s Kate Ball and Ironton’s Evan Williams.  

On the honorable mention list is South Point’s Saratina Jackson, Wellston’s Kimmi Aubrey, Ironton’s Isabel Morgan and Coal Grove’s Kinsey Keeney.

Nelsonville-York’s Airah Levy is the Division III Player of the Year, while her coach, Mark Truex, has been tabbed as the Coach of the Year. 

In Division IV, South Gallia’s Morgan Lyons and Tori Triplett highlight the first-team list.

The second-team honors in Division IV feature Symmes Valley’s Desiree Simpson while honorable mention accolades were earned by Ironton St. Joe’s Gracie Damron and Mia Weber, alongside Symmes Valley’s Jordan Ellison.

Eastern Meigs’ Sydney Reynolds was named Player of the Year, while South Gallia’s Cory Small Was named Coach of the Year.
