Vulgamore, Leonard, Dettwiller headline District 14 Coaches Association all-district teams

WAVERLY — The District 14 Coaches Association released its All-District girls team with a trio of familiar names headlined the list.

In Division I/II, Waverly’s Bailey Vulgamore was tabbed as the Player of the Year while Eastern Brown’s Rylee Leonard and Notre Dame’s Annie Dettwiller earned that honor in Division III and IV, respectively. 

Vulgamore led a competitive Waverly team to 16 wins this season while averaging double figures in scoring on a nightly basis. 

Leonard continued to add to her legend, helping the Warriors win 18 games while eclipsing 2,000 career points and becoming the Warriors’ all-time leading scorer. 

Dettwiller continued to help Notre Dame uphold a standard of excellence, leading the Titans to 21 wins and another SOC I championship while also leading them in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals per game. 

Joining Vulgamore with first-team honors in Division I/II is teammate Kelli Stewart, Circleville’s Maddie Blakeman, Chillicothe’s Jacey Harding, Unioto’s Milee Smith and Amaris Betts and Miami Trace’s Hillery Jacobs. 

On the second-team list is McClain’s Payton Pryor, Hillsboro’s Blake Herdman, Unioto’s Amelia Uhrig, Logan Elm’s Kinnah Ingram, and Circleville’s Faith Yancey and Morgan Blakeman

Honorable mention honors were earned by Chillicothe’s Avery Erslan, Circleville’s Gabby McConnell, Hillsboro’s Peighton Bledsoe, Logan Elm’s Kimberly Petty, McClain’s Lilly Barnes, Miami Trace’s Jessee Stweart, Unioto’s Maggie Holbert, Washington’s Allie Mongold and Waverly’s Caris Risner. 

Unioto coach Jeff Miller was named the Division II District 14 Coach of the Year. 

Alongside Leonard on the first-team group in Division III was Adena’s Emma Garrison, Peebles’ Payton Johnson, West’s Maelynn Howell and Fairfield’s Peyton Magee.

The second-team list features North Adams’ Keetyn Hupp, Wheelersburg’s Makenna Walker, Portsmouth’s Sienna Allen, South Webster’s Skylar Zimmerman and Lynchburg-Clay’s Jade Massey

The third-team group is highlighted by Southeastern’s Gabby Pernell, Huntington’s Emma Hinshaw, North Adams’ Kenlie Jones, West’s Emma Sayre, Portsmouth’s Daysha Reed and Wheelersburg’s Madison Whittaker, Piketon’s Natalie Cooper and Jazz Lamerson.  

Earning honorable mention honors is Fairfield’s Faith Donley, Northwest’s Faith Jewett, Huntington’s Allie Baker, Wheelersburg’s Lexie Rucker, South Webster’s Bella Claxon, Portsmouth’s Savannah Cantrell, West’s Lexi Deaver, Southeastern’s Reese Ruckel, Adena’s Sydney Ater, Eastern Brown’s Sarah Clark, Lynchburg-Clay’s Addison West, Minford’s Lindsee Williams, Piketon’s Ali Taylor, North Adams’ Laney Ruckel and Peebles’ Caydence Carroll

North Adams coach Rob Davis was tabbed as the Division III Coach of the Year. 

Dettwiller was joined on first-team in Division IV by teammate Gracie Ashley, Whiteoak’s Jaylie Parr, Paint Valley’s Averi McFadden and Western’’s Kenzie Ferneau

The second-team list is made up of Paint Valley’s Kendall Dye, Notre Dame’s Ella Kirby, New Boston’s Dylan O’Rourke, Clay’s Maggie Swayne and Eastern’s Cylie Weaver

Honorable mention honors were earned by Paint Valley’s Karris Dye, New Boston’s Cadence Williams, Whiteoak’s Darby Yeager, Western’s Jordyn Rittenhouse, Clay’s Morgan McCloy, Eastern’s Laken Gullett, Green’s Anna Knapp and Notre Dame’s Kamryn Bradford.

Notre Dame’s J.D. McKenzie is the Division IV Coach of the Year.
