JACKSON — Leah Alford made sure to save her best year for her last, statistically speaking.

Jackson’s senior hurler was 10-7 in the circle this spring alongside a 3.80 ERA and 135 strikeouts. She was also dangerous at the plate, hitting .533 with eight doubles, five triples, three homers and 25 RBIs — all team-highs.

Those numbers, which speak for themselves, have led Alford to being named the Frontier Athletic Conference’s Player of the Year.

Joining Alford on the FAC’s all-league softball list are Hillsboro’s quintet of Kayla Roberts, Camryn Spruell, Gracey Dearmon, Halle Revel and Kensey Gilliland. Those five helped the Indians win an outright league title.

Washington’s Makenna Knisley and Kassidy Olson are also all-FAC selections while Chillicothe’s Emma Fromm, McClain’s Abby Atkinson and Miami Trace’s Sydney Payton round out the list.
