The area’s baseball programs learned of their first-round postseason fates Sunday afternoon as the Southeast Ohio District Athletic Board revealed tournament seeds.
Here’s a brief look at where each area team will begin its postseason run.
NOTE: All sectional tournament games are hosted by the highest seeded team.
DIVISION I
Teays Valley (12-6) is the highest-ranked team in the area within Division I. The Vikings will host the winner of Gahanna Lincoln and Independence in a sectional final on May 18.
Logan (7-11) is a No. 37 seed and will travel to Whetstone for a sectional semifinal on May 16.
Also in Division I, Chillicothe (3-16) is a No. 40 seed and will travel to No. 20 Dublin Jerome on May 16 for a sectional semifinal matchup.
DIVISION II
The top-seeded team in SOSA’s coverage area is No. 1 Jackson (15-3). The Ironmen will take on the winner between No. 16 Logan Elm (6-12) and No. 17 Vinton County (5-12) at 5 p.m., May 16 at home.
That same evening, No. 3 Unioto (16-3) hosts No. 14 Fairfield Union (6-11), No. 4 Miami Trace (12-2) faces No. 13 New Lexington, and No. 5 Washington (12-4) hosts No. 12 McClain (9-13).
Additionally, No. 7 Athens (11-5) takes on No. 10 Warren and No. 8 Circleville (10-10) welcomes No. 9 Waverly (11-8) while No. 11 Hillsboro (7-9) travels to take on No. 6 Gallia Academy.
In the Central District, Bloom-Carroll (12-9) has earned a No. 3 seed and has a bye. The Bulldogs will face either River Valley or Columbus East on May 19.
DIVISON III
Zane Trace (18-2) is the top seed in Division III and will await the winner of No. 16 Belpre and No. 17 Westfall (7-9) on May 19 in a sectional final.
That same evening, No. 2 Wheelersburg (15-5) plays against the winner of No. 18 Federal Hocking and No. 15 West (7-10) while No. 3 Portsmouth (15-4) faces the winner of No. 14 Eastern Brown (7-6) and No. 19 Nelsonville-York.
Sectional semifinal games played on May 16 feature No. 4 Minford (13-5) against No. 29 West Union (1-11), No. 5 Wellston (15-3) against No. 28 Coal Grove and No. 9 Ironton (8-8-1) hosting No. 24 Crooksville.
Additionally, No. 10 Adena (9-6) takes on No. 23 Northwest (4-12), No. 10 Lynchburg-Clay (9-5) faces No. 22 River Valley, No. 12 Piketon plays No. 21 North Adams (5-10), and No. 13 Oak Hill (9-11) takes on No. 20 Southeastern (5-11).
In the Central District, Liberty Union (16-1) is a No. 1 seed and will face the winner of Marion Elgin and Africentric on May 19. Also in the Central is Amanda-Clearcreek (12-5), which is a No. 4 seed. The Aces will host North Union on May 19.

DIVISON IV
In Division IV, all sectional final games will take place on May 17.
Top-seeded Valley (15-2) faces the winner between No. 16 Peebles (7-7) and No. 17 Green (6-15), No. 2 Symmes Valley (13-1) faces the winner of No. 15 Paint Valley (6-12) and No. 18 Eastern (3-12), and No. 3 Whiteoak (16-6) plays against either No. 14 Waterford or No. 19 Western (3-9).
No. 4 Fairfield (13-3) faces either No. 13 Clay (9-9) or No. 20 South Gallia, No. 5 Ironton St. Joe (18-2) plays No. 12 Notre Dame (10-9) or No. 21 New Boston (2-11), No. 6 Huntington (12-7) faces either No. 11 Eastern (9-10) or No. 22 East (1-18), No. 7 South Webster (10-10) plays either No. 10 Trimble or No. 23 Miller, and No. 8 Manchester (11-3) faces No. 9 Southern.
