Peebles’ Jacey Justice wins Athlete of the Week honors

Justice became the first girl in Adams County history to score 2,000 career points.

SOSA Staff Report

PEEBLES — Jacey Justice continues to knock down barriers.

Historic barriers at that.

Justice had quite the week last week, scoring her 2,000th career point in a win over Ripley. She became the first girl in Adams County history to reach that mark.

Oh, and she’s led Peebles to a 10-1 start with an 8-1 mark in the SHAC.

For all of those reasons, Justice has been named SOSA’s Athlete of the Week — following in teammate Peyton Johnson’s footsteps, who was named the AOW one week ago.

Out of 658 public votes, Justice accounted for 257 or 39.1 percent of the total. Waverly’s Paige Carter finished second in the voting with 190, McClain’s Bri Weller was third with a count of 135, and Unioto’s Isaac Little was fourth at 76.

Justice received all four votes from the guys at SOSA as well.

For her efforts, Justice will receive a free t-shirt, thanks to Mile Tree Screen Printing, a free appetizer via Longhorn Steakhouse, and two free Wendy’s combo meals via Schmidt Family Restaurant Group.
