The Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association released its All-Ohio teams Sunday and five local players graced the lists.
In Division III, Wheelersburg’s Kylee Barney earned second-team All-Ohio honors while Adena’s Jenna Martin grabbed the same accolade.
Barney and Martin each led their teams to district titles. Both middle hitters, Barney totaled 282 kills and 77 blocks, both team highs, while Martin tallied 239 kills alongside 85 blocks.
Also in Division III, Westfall’s Marissa Mullins is a third-team All-Ohio recipient. Mullins was the SVC Player of the Year and paced the Mustangs to a district title.
Zane Trace’s Alli Bennett joined the All-Ohio list in Division III as well after posting 234 kills, 23 aces, 376 digs and 366 assists. Bennett is an honorable mention selection for the 18-win Pioneers.
The area’s final All-Ohio recipient came in Division IV where South Webster’s Faith Maloney earned honorable mention status.
Maloney led her Jeeps to a district title and an Elite 8 appearance while totaling 327 kills, 74 aces, 96 blocks and 163 digs.
Wheelersburg coach Allen Perry, who led his Pirates to their fourth straight district crown, and Adena coach Laura Smith, who led the Warriors to their second straight district title, both received Coaches Achievement Awards in Division III.
