The Southern Hills Athletic Conference released its all-league volleyball team early this week and North Adams’ DeLaney Harper topped the list.
Harper received SHAC Player of the Year honors after leading the Green Devils to a 13-0 mark in conference action and an 18-5 overall record. Harper was the team leader in kills with 256 while adding 59 aces, 57 blocks and 275 digs.
In short, she was a jack of all trades.
Harper’s head coach, Katie Ragan, earned Coach of the Year honors after guiding her roster to an undefeated league slate.
Harper had a few teammates join her with all-SHAC honors in Wylie Shipley and Sierra Kendall. Shipley also powered down 200-plus kills while Kendall logged her 1,000th career assist.
Also earning all-league honors is Peebles’ Jacey Justice and Darby Mills, Eastern’s Tara Burns, Whiteoak’s Jeanette Cox, Lynchburg-Clay’s Abby Pitzer and Ashley Ernst, Fairfield’s Layla Hattan, Jaden Smith and Faith Miller, Manchester’s Brooke Kennedy and Braxlynn McClanahan, Fayetteville’s Giulia Pegan and Paige Lockwood, and Ripley’s Brook Sims, and West Union’s Madison Taylor.
