Minford’s Dillon Osborne wins The UPS Store’s SOC Athlete of the Week award

Osborne shot a 73 during the SOC golf championships, leading the Falcons to a league title.

MINFORD — In the most critical of moments, Dillon Osborne stepped up in a major way.

Osborne, a junior, led Minford to its first Southern Ohio Conference golf title since 1985 by shooting a 73 in the conference championships.

The Falcons, as a team, shot a 344 to beat out second-place West at 376.

For his efforts, Osborne is SOSA’s 24th overall SOC Athlete of the Week, presented by The UPS Store.

Out of 3,754 public votes, Osborne accounted for exactly 1,753 or 46.7 percent of the total. West’s Mitchell Irwin finished second in the voting with 1,187, Oak Hill’s Conor Dickens was third with a count of 344, South Webster’s Gwen Messer as fourth at 294, and Notre Dame’s Ava Hassel was fifth at 176.

Osborne received two of the four votes from the guys at SOSA to win the award.

For his efforts, Osborne will receive a free t-shirt from The UPS Store, as well as meal coupons from the Schmidt Family Restaurant Group.
