Huntington’s Allison Basye breaks own scoring record in win over Zane Trace

Huntington's Allison Basye broke her own program single-game scoring record with 41 points on Thursday.

CHILLICOTHE — If you’re having deja vu, you’re not alone.

Back on Dec. 14, in a 74-61 win over West Union, Huntington’s Allison Basye scored a program record 40 points. Thursday evening, she trumped herself.

In a 70-31 win over Zane Trace, Basye scored 41 points … coming via 14 field goals, including five 3’s, and 6-of-6 shooting from the charity stripe.

Emily Haubeil scored seven points for Huntington in the win while Megan Steele and Katie Hirsch each added six points each.

The Huntsmen are now 8-12 overall and 7-6 in the Scioto Valley Conference. They still have two regular season games left, coming against Westfall and Fairfield.

The program drew a No. 22 seed in this past weekend’s district tournament draw and will face No. 11 South Point in a Division III sectional semifinal at 8 p.m., Feb. 13 at Jackson High School.
