WILLIAMSPORT — Officially, Trevor Thomas’ career coaching record stands at 349-311.

But if you’d ask him, those 349 victories belong to his players and the 311 losses belong to him.

Thomas, a staple in the Scioto Valley Conference baseball community, has accomplished many things during his career at Westfall.

But Friday night’s news may just top the list.

Thomas learned of his selection into the Southeast District Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

“This is a tremendous honor that I am receiving on behalf of over 500 past and current players, their parents, the school, community and my family,” Thomas said. “I am an average guy who, without these great people, couldn’t have done it. I am blessed, honored, and humbled by this. I give all the glory and honor to God.”

Thomas’ Mustangs are coming off a season in which they win SVC, sectional and district championships.

During that run, there was no shortage of drama.

In a 6-5 win over Rock Hill in a district semifinal, the Mustangs trailed 5-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning. Then, in a district final, they beat heavily-favored Wheelersburg by a 2-1 score.

It was the school’s first conference and district titles since 2010 when the Mustangs finished 23-7.

As Westfall tries to defend those crowns, they’ll now do so with a Hall of Famed skipper roaming its dugout.

Thomas’ induction ceremony will take place on June 15 at VA Memorial Stadium
