Call scored 43 points in three games and led the Indians to an overtime win over Adena.

SOSA Staff Report

LUCASVILLE — After a win over Adena this past weekend, Valley girls coach Mark Merritt admitted his Indians have struggled at times this season.

But there’s been at least one constant bright spot on the team, and that’s senior Bre Call.

Last week, Call led the team to the 56-55 overtime win over Adena with 14 points, four rebounds and four assists. In total, in three games worth, Call scored a team-high 43 points.

For those efforts, Call is SOSA’s 16th overall SOC Athlete of the Week, presented by The UPS Store.

Out of 2,189 public votes, Call accounted for 1,130 or 51.6 percent of the total. Northwest’s Brycen Carver finished second in the voting with 591, West’s Morgan Rigsby was third with a count of 232, Oak Hill’s Chase Hammond was fourth at 209, and Clay’s Shaden Malone came in fifth with 27.

Call received three of the four votes from the guys at SOSA as well.

For her efforts, Call will receive a free t-shirt from The UPS Store, as well as meal coupons from the Schmidt Family Restaurant Group.
