Green’s Kasey Kimbler wins The UPS Store’s SOC Athlete of the Week award

Kimbler has led the Bobcats to a 6-2 start while averaging over 20 points per game.

FRANKLIN FURNACE — There’s no doubt that when Green needs a score, it looks directly to sophomore guard Kasey Kimbler.

Kimbler has led the Bobcats to a 6-2 start while averaging over 20 points per game. Last week, she scored 24 points in a 54-38 win over East, followed it up with a 23 and 17-point performances against Fairview and New Boston.

For those efforts, Kimbler is SOSA’s 14th overall SOC Athlete of the Week, presented by The UPS Store.

Out of 159 public votes, Kimbler accounted for 105 or 66 percent of the total. Waverly’s Carli Knight finished second in the voting with 32, Oak Hill’s Chase Hammond was third with a count of 13, West’s Charlie Jo Howard was fourth at 5, and Wheelersburg’s J.J. Truitt came in fifth with 4.

Kimbler received three of the four votes from the guys at SOSA as well.

For her efforts, Kimbler will receive a free t-shirt from The UPS Store, as well as meal coupons from the Schmidt Family Restaurant Group.
