CHILLICOTHE — After leading Southeastern to a third straight playoff berth, head football coach Evan Gallaugher announced his resignation Wednesday afternoon.

In seven seasons, Gallaugher led the Panthers to an overall record of 41-34. He ends his tenure as the most winningest coach in program history.

“I’ve had the opportunity to coach some really good kids that have always put their team and teammates first,” Gallaugher said. “Those kids worked hard and were raised with a high standard of ethics.”

Southeastern has made three straight playoff appearances, including an 11-1 finish this past season. Gallaugher is the only coach in program history to lead the Panthers to three playoff berths and the only coach to win a playoff game … he won two, one in 2017 and one in 2019.

The Panthers have won two of the last three Scioto Valley Conference titles, both of which came in undefeated fashion with 7-0 marks.

Gallaugher was the Division VI Southeast District Coach of the Year this past fall.

“I appreciate our coaching staff and the time they put in to make us successful,” Gallaugher said. “Southeastern is a great school and these teams have been a reflection of the people in this community.”
