SOSA Staff Report

BAINBRIDGE — After spending the last two years at the helm of Paint Valley’s volleyball program, Angela Jackson has resigned from her head coaching position.

During her time at Paint Valley, Jackson led the Bearcats to 17 wins as well as a sectional title and district final appearance in 2018.

This past season, Paint Valley won its first two games in Scioto Valley Conference action — both coming over Piketon — since 2013.

“Coach Jackson did a great job of establishing discipline and structure throughout our high school program,” Paint Valley Athletic Director Pete Hollon said. “Sometimes, you have to make tough decisions as a coach and she wasn’t afraid to to do that. We finally started to see results on the floor in the second half of the season this year. I thank her for her hard work and efforts. The foundation has been laid.”

When Jackson’s Bearcats won a sectional title in 2018, they did so in a five-set thriller over Waterford before a loss to Notre Dame in the district final.

The sectional title was the program’s first since 2013.

Next season, the Bearcats will return multiple starters after graduating three seniors this past fall.
