COLUMBUS — As the OHSAA released its Division VI and VII All-Ohio football teams Sunday afternoon, Lane Ruby’s trophy case got a major addition.
Southeastern’s senior do-it-all quarterback was named the Division VI Offensive Player of the Year after leading his Panthers to a third straight postseason berth and an 11-1 overall record.
During his senior year, Ruby rushed for 2,310 yards and 35 touchdowns while passing for 734 yards and five additional scores. For good measure, he was also extremely effective on the defensive side of the football, tallying 79 tackles and four interceptions.
He was also the Scioto Valley Conference and District Offensive Player of the Year.
Ruby shares the award with Howard East Knox’s Caleb Gallwitz, Western Reserve’s Cody Benesh and Anna’a Riley Huelskamp.
