Wheelersburg, Southeastern on the rise in latest OHSAA computer rankings

Wheelersburg and Southeastern are both on the rise after big wins last week.

After marquee wins this past Friday, both Wheelersburg (5-3) and Southeastern (8-0) have made moves up in the latest OHSAA computer rankings.

The Pirates now sit at No. 2 in Division V, Region 19 with 16.025 points after this week’s win over Waverly, behind undefeated West Lafayette Ridgewood, while the Panthers now hold the top spot in Division VI, Region 24 with 14.75 points after a 28-21 win over Unioto.

Four other programs within SOSA’s coverage area are also still lined up for home playoff games … holding a spot in their region’s top four.

Jackson (8-0) is now No. 2 in Division III, Region 11 with 19.7375 points, Waverly (6-2) has dropped to No. 4 in the Division IV, Region 15 with 14.0875 points after Friday’s 42-28 loss to Wheelersburg.

Paint Valley (7-1) drops from the top spot in Division IV, Region 24 rankings to the No. 2 slot with 14.0375 points, even after a win, while Adena (7-1) holds steady at No. 3 in the same region with 12.4125 points.

Also included in the rankings is Minford (6-2), which sits at No. 6 in Division V, Region 19, as well as Oak Hill (5-3), which sits at No. 8 in the same region. This past week, the Oaks beat the Falcons on a last second field goal attempt.
