Wheelersburg’s Alli McQuay, Clay’s Jaelyn Warnock name SOC Players of the Year, all-league teams released

The SOC released its all-conference volleyball teams Wednesday afternoon.

The Southern Ohio Conference released its all-league volleyball teams Wednesday afternoon as Clay’s Jaelyn Warnock and Wheelersburg’s Alli Mcquay led the way.

Warnock was named the SOC I Player of the Year while Mcquay earned the same honor in the SOC II.

Clay’s Jaelyn Warnock has been named the SOC I Player of the Year after logging 411 kills this season.

The Panthers are 14-8 behind Warnock, who has logged 411 kills, 56 aces, 26 blocks and 338 digs. The Pirates finished the regular season a perfect 22-0 while Mcquay led the team with 200 kills alongside 38 aces, 27 blocks and 137 digs.

Earning Defensive Player of the Year honors were Western’s Carigan Haggy in the SOC I and Minford’s Maddie Slusher in the SOC II. New Boston’s Kendra Holbrook has been named the SOC I Coach of the Year while Wheelersburg’s Allen Perry is the SOC II’s Coach of the Year.

The SOC I’s first-team includes Notre Dame’s Sophia Hassel, Cassie Schaefer, Taylor Schmidt and Ava Hassel, Clay’s Shaley Munion and Hannah Phipps, Western’s Chelsey Penwell and Kenzi Ferneau, New Boston’s Lexus Oiler, Green’s Kame Sweeney, Symmes Valley’s Payton Hunter, St. Joseph’s Jadyn Green and East’s Grace Smith.

Earning second-team SOC I honors are Notre Dame’s Claire Dettwiller and Joyce Zheng, Clay’s Jordan Mathias and Kyleigh Oliver, Western’s Mea Henderson and Paige Davis, Green’s Kasey Kimbler, New Boston’s Shelby Easter and Sammy Oiler, Symmes Valley’s Rachael Hayes, St. Joseph’s Faith Mahlmeister and East’s Taylor Holley.

Joining Mcquay and Slusher on the SOC II’s first team list is Wheelersburg’s Emily Boggs, Kylee Barney and Mallory Bergan, South Webster’s Faith Maloney, Briana Claxon and McKenzie Keller, Waverly’s Hallie Silcott, Carli Knight and Sarah Thompson, Northwest’s Haidyn Wamsley, Oak Hill’s Caitlyn Brisker, Eastern’s Skylar White, Valley’s Brooklyn Buckle and West’s Morgan Rigsby.

Earning second-team SOC II honors are Wheelersburg’s Kaylee Darnell, and Lauren Jolly, South Webster’s Graci Claxon and Gwen Messer, Waverly’s Mattie Elliott and Kelli Stewart , Northwest’s Reagan Lewis and Ava Jenkins, Minford’s Ally Coriell, Oak Hill’s Abby Meldick, Eastern’s Katie Newsome, Valley’s Kensie Spencer and West’s Alex Nolan.
