Waverly ranked 10th in latest Division IV AP Poll, Jackson, PV, SE, Adena receive votes

Five area teams are ranked in the latest AP poll.

After a 51-7 win over Lucasville Valley this past Friday, the Waverly Tigers have made a significant move in the latest AP Poll.

The Tigers, who now sit at 6-1, are ranked as the No. 10 team in Division after receiving 25 points. In last week’s poll, they were ranked No. 12.

Cruz McFadden and Paint Valley are ranked No. 13 in the latest Division VI AP Poll.

That ranking will certainly be tested this coming Friday, with a trip to SOC II foe Wheelersburg looming around the corner.

Also receiving votes in SOSA’s coverage area is Jackson, Paint Valley, Southeastern and Adena.

The Ironmen (7-0) are ranked as the No. 14 team in Division III with 21 points while the Bearcats, Panthers and Warriors are all ranked just outside the top 10 in Division VI.

Paint Valley (6-1) comes in at No. 13 with 27 points, Southeastern (7-0) is No. 14 with 24 points and Adena (6-1) sits at No. 16 with 15 points. The Bearcats, with a 41-7 win over Unioto, made the biggest jump of the three after not being ranked in last week’s poll.
