FINDLAY — Ross County’s all-time girls scoring leader hasn’t seemed to miss a beat at the collegiate level.

Jayla Campbell, a 2019 Unioto graduate, scored her first two collegiate goals this past week, and passed out two assists, while helping the University of Findlay beat both Lake Erie College and Ursuline College in conference tilts.

For those efforts, Campbell was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week.

Against Lake Erie this past Friday, the freshman midfielder logged her two assists in a 3-0 victory before scoring both goals off headers in a 3-1 win over Ursuline on Sunday.

“It’s a great feeling. They were two great team wins,” Campbell said. “The season is going well. Personally, I had a rough start. But the team and staff are so welcoming and helpful. It’s a great group of girls and I love playing with them. I’m so excited to see what’s to come this season.”

Currently, the Oilers sit at 4-0-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the GMAC. They’ll be back in action Oct. 3 against Kentucky Wesleyan before home dates with Trevecca Nazarene, Cedarville and Ohio Dominican.
