WILLIAMSPORT — After aiding her team to yet another district championship appearance, Westfall’s Josie Williams has been voted as Southern Ohio Sports Authority’s “Athlete of the Week.”

On May 15, in a 10-0 win over Alexander, Williams logged a three-run double that put the game further out of reach. She finished the contest with four RBIs while playing a stellar game defensively at shortstop.

Out of 1,408 public votes, Williams accounted for 716 or 50.9 percent of the total. Piketon’s Kannon Pack finished second in the voting with 455, Waverly’s Cody Remington was third with a count of 131, Adena’s Roman Long took fourth at 87, and Wheelersburg’s Christen Risner was fifth with 19.

Williams received all four votes from the guys at SOSA as well.

For her efforts, Williams will receive a free duffel bag from MOJO-USA, a free t-shirt thanks to Mile Tree Screen Printing and a free Wendy’s combo meal via Schmidt Family Restaurant Group.
