CHILLICOTHE — After the departure of former boys basketball coach Rick Strausbaugh, Southeastern is expected to fill both of its boys and girls basketball coach vacancies this coming Monday.
According to WKKJ, Mike Adams will replace Strausbaugh after serving the last six seasons as the school’s girls basketball coach. Replacing Adams on his former bench will be Doug Hice, who has spent the past several years as an assistant coach under Adams.
Adams, who was the 1989 SVC Player of the Year in his own right, led the Panthers to over 100 wins during his tenure. He was also a three-time SVC Coach of the Year. He’ll take over a boys program that finished 4-19 last winter.
As for Hice, he’ll get the opportunity to coach a group that finished 7-16 last season — having to play without starting forward Skylar Hice, who was sidelined with a shoulder injury.
