FRANKFORT — After finishing last season with a 6-16 overall record and a 4-10 mark in the Scioto Valley Conference, Adena’s girls basketball program has a new head basketball coach.
Adena High School’s Board of Education approved Andrew Day as its newest head basketball coach — Day replaces Richard Scott, who has spent the last four years at the helm.
“I’m extremely excited about the opportunity to lead the girls basketball program at Adena,” Day said. “It’s a program with great tradition and I look forward to developing a team that these girls and this community will be proud of.”
Day previously served as an assistant coach on the boys basketball team under Lou Postage, Jason Smith and current head coach Kyle Bradley.
He now takes over a program that hasn’t finished in the top half of the league since 2012-2013 season.
“There is a lot of work ahead, particularly in a great conference like the SVC,” Day said. “But we will embrace the challenge and put in the work necessary to compete to the best of our ability.”
