Sissel, Brackman headline all-SOC football honors

Here's a look at the SOC's all-league football honors.

PORTSMOUTH — Throughout their season, West’s Ryan Sissel and Northwest’s Wyatt Brackman were two of the most feared running backs in Southern Ohio.

Both shouldered massive responsibilities within their respective offenses, and ran through opponents like a hot knife through butter. 

Sissel led the Senators to 11 wins, an SOC II championship and two playoff victories and ended the season with 1,751 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns. Brackman helped bring the Mohawks a share of the SOC I championship, ending the season with 1,221 yards and 16 touchdowns. 

For their efforts, the Southern Ohio Conference named them both Offensive Players of the Year in their divisions. 

Waverly’s Wyatt Crabtree and East’s Keagen Jackson were named Defensive Players of the Year while West’s Kade Woods and Eastern’s K.J. Reinsmith earned Lineman of the Year honors.

West coach Todd Gilliand and Eastern’s Scott Tomlinson were named Coaches of the Year. 

Joining Sissel on the first-team SOC II list were teammates Mitchell Irwin, Jeffery Bishop, Cole Tipton, Trevor Fike, Cole Windsor and Brandon Anderson, Wheelersburg’s Eric Lattimore, Creed Warren, Ethan Glover, Joden Blackburn, and Caleb Arthur, Waverly’s Jase Hurd, Brock Adams and Hudson Kelly, Minford’s Hunter Pendleton, Jeffery Pica and Owen Blaine, Valley’s Colt Buckle and Lakota Davis and Oak Hill’s Nate Clutters

On the second-team list is West’s Mason Parker, Carson Horner and Jacob Cole, Wheelersburg’s Zavier Stanley, Landon Hutchinson and Derrick Lattimore, Waverly’s Logan Long and Nate Welsh, Minford’s Tyson Kingery and Peyton Caudill, Oak Hill’s Evan Fisher and A.J. Harrison and Valley’s Levi Bush

Alongside Brackman, Reinsmith and Jackson on the first-team SOC I list is Northwest’s Alex Baer, Connor Lintz, Carter Runyon, Tanner Bolin, Kory Butler, Eli Dettwiller and Hunter Campbell, Eastern’s Dylan Morton, Landyn Reinsmith, Landon Cavinder, Laken and Brewer Tomlinson, Teagen Warner and Justin Bradley, East’s Austin Baughman, Tyell Baker and Dylan Fitzgerald, Notre Dame’s Dylan Seison, Gavin Hart, Carter Campbell and Jake Edwards, and Green’s Nathaniel Brannigan and Abe McBee
