Wheelersburg’s Eaton, Portsmouth’s Perry among first-team selections, headline area All-Ohio honorees

COLUMBUS — The Ohio High School Athletic Association released its All-Ohio softball lists earlier this week with multiple familiar names earning their place on the state’s biggest stage.

In Division II, Circleville’s Cara Cooper earned her spot as a first-team All-Ohioan while Unioto’s Avery Miller and Waverly’s Suzzy Wall were second-team all-state selections.

Vinton County’s Kerrigan Ward and Logan Elm’s Carly King made the Division II honorable mention list. 

In Division III, Wheelersburg’s Macee Eaton, Portsmouth’s Madison Perry and Wellston’s Jenna Johnston were all named first-team All-Ohioans. 

West’s Sydney McDermott, Southeastern’s Lexie Lockwood and Ironton’s Keegan Moore were second-team honorees, while Westfall’s Olivia Dumm, Fairfield’s Caitlyn Quickle and Wheelersburg’s Catie Boggs earned honorable mention status.

Earning first-team honors in Division IV is Notre Dame’s Gwen Sparks and Clay’s Jacy Gearhart

South Webster’s Bri Claxon and Peebles’ Marisa Moore were second-team selections while Paint Valley’s Olivia Smith and Clay’s Preslee Lutz earned honorable mention honors.
